The Mayor’s Health Line is pleased to announce it has expanded service offerings to include case management and counseling to clients in need of, or receiving, Medicare health coverage benefits.

This timely announcement aligns perfectly with the annual Medicare Open Enrollment Period which starts TODAY, October 15 and goes through December 7, 2012.

Right now, people with Medicare should compare plans and make sure they have the right health and prescription drug coverage.

This newly expanded service complements the Mayor’s Health Line’s already reputable health care navigation services including the Primary Care Access hotline, the online resource finder database, state benefit programs application assistance, and access to plain language and accurate health information on a variety of topics.

As part of its program services, the Mayor’s Health Line staff provide free, unbiased, and confidential health insurance information, counseling, and assistance. Information is disseminated by trained counselors who help individuals make informed choices, while providing information on enrollment into new health insurance benefits like Medicaid, MassHealth, Commonwealth Care, and now Medicare.
