Today, Wednesday, May 9, is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day. As many as nine million children in the United States struggle with mental and emotional challenges. Yet only one in five children receives quality treatment.
Misunderstandings about mental illnesses often prevent children and their families from seeking help. We want to change that.
The Boston Public Health Commission and the Boston Children’s Museum are teaming up to celebrate Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day on Saturday, May 12, 2012, because young children’s mental health matters.
Come join us for a celebration of children’s mental health wellness and help raise awareness about the importance of effective mental health services in the community!
