Healthy on the Block is a program of the Boston Public Health Commission that works with community members and organizations in Boston to increase access to healthy, affordable foods in local corner stores.

Recently, the team rolled up their sleeves and along with Chris, owner of World’s Best Food Market, did a store makeover. The crew cleaned, cleared shelves, and created a space that consists only of Healthy on the Block approved items, which means they are healthier choices for families in the neighborhood at a reasonable price.

Please support World’s Best Food Market by spreading the word to friends, family, and coworkers to visit the store and provide feedback on how it looks. Also, let us know what kind of produce the store should consider selling in 2012!

World’s Best Food Market is located on 645 River Street in Mattapan.
